Heavy Metal Heights: A Theme Park

Hey. It's about time I made a blog post isn't it? Anyway. Here is my idea for a theme park.

My theme park would be called Heavy Metal Heights and the theme is rock music, prominently heavy metal and it's subgenres.

The entrance zone will be called Retro Zone. This section of the park returns to the invention of psychedelic/hard rock in the 60s/70s. The zone is decorated with colourful music notes that are placed in a way they look like they are rising. The part you enter to is the mall which features various shops dedicated to the inventors of rock. A few examples are Chuck Berry Smoothies and Zeppelin Balloons. After exiting the mall you come to a split pathway. The left leads to the first main ride and another zone. The right path goes to various sideshows and interactive booths.
The sideshows feature various musical spins on classic games like Hook a Mic. There are also a few interactive booths. One is a Rock Out booth. Inside here there are 5 smaller booths that each feature a Fender Stratocaster. These guitars are secured to the amp. After entering £5 you get 10 minutes to jam all you like and your results are given to you on a souvenir CD.
Going left you will find the first thrill ride, Deep Purple Seas. This ride is the parks Log Flume. It has an interactive Deep Purple soundtrack and the scenery of the log flume changes along with the song. For example, one segment plays Burn and the scenery is fiery and the temperature is increased, giving a 4-D experience. This ride finishes with a huge finish featuring Smoke On the Water where jets from under the water give out smoke giving the illusion of floating on smoke.

After leaving the Retro Zone you enter Heavy Metal Zone. This section of the park is predominantly based on the 'New Wave of ___ Heavy Metal' era in the 80s. This section of the park has 3 main rides and a couple more sideshows.
The first ride is the horror ride The Iron Maiden. Obviously, this ride is based on the legendary metal band of the same name. The passengers enter a cart and are taken into a room. Hallowed Be Thy Name plays and the dark room flashes images of a zombified Eddie. Before the riff starts the cart goes into the main track area. Throughout the ride, in time with the music, Eddie will appear at scary moment to give a terrifying experience. The song is shortened to around 5 minutes to keep the ride efficient. The final part features a huge Eddie standing at the exit that only appears when lightning strikes in the dark room.
The next ride is Motörcar. Based on Motörhead this ride is the first rollercoaster. The rider is secured in a hot rod car. The ride reaches a speed of 60mph in 5 seconds giving the rider massive adrenaline. The ride goes through various twists and some bouts of upside down riding. The ride then goes for 2 more laps (as it only lasts around 30 seconds) and then stops.
The final ride in this zone is Revenge of Judas, based on Judas Priest. This ride is not a 'moving' ride as such but a spinning one. The rider gets into a pod and the door is closed. The drum solo from Painkiller plays through the pods speakers and when the riff starts the ride starts spinning. The ride gets faster and kicks into mega mode when the soloing starts. Again, the song is shorted but not by a lot, about a minute or so.
There are 2 paths after this zone, that go to the following zones.

The first of these zones is Glam Zone. Obviously, this zone is dedicated to the flamboyancy of glam in the 80s. Again, the zone contains a few stores and a couple more sideshows and also 2 main ride.
The first main ride is The Ratt Trap. This ride is again not a carriage based ride. Instead 2 people are put inside a long pod and a strapped in or whatever. The ride is high and is one of those rides that are like a ferris wheel but are fast and you go upside down, but theres only 1 pod. The ride nearly does a full spin (going forwards) but when the pod is upside down it 'struggles to about a ¾ revelation, this is pretending to be like when you cant pull something back far enough. Out of nowhere the 'struggle' is released and the pod does a lot of very fast rotations. Round and Round plays during the ride.
The next ride in Glam Zone is Crüe Coaster. This is a carriage based rollercoaster based on Mötley Crüe. It starts with Shout at the Devil with a quite slow chain lift. The carriage then stops and Live Wire starts. When the drums come in the carriage drops and the carriage goes through various exciting turns, loops and corkscrews. When the calm bit comes and that slide sound play the carriage slows and comes to the station.

The final zone is Thrash Zone. Obviously, it's based on Thrash Metal and predominantly The Big 4. Again, sideshows and stalls are here. There are 4 main rides, again based on The Big 4.
The first ride is Headcrusher and yeah, it's the Megadeth one. This is a single person ride. Therider first is escorted into a lift which takes you up quite high. You are then securely strapped onto a platform and it tilts back so the rider is lying down. The rider is then set off through the doors. On the ceiling a 'reflection' is shown but it's actually a video with Vic Rattlehead replacing you. Also, he is slightly ahead. You see Vic come up to a 'break' in the track and the video shuts off. You then come to it and there is crashing, Headcrusher starts playing and the track drops quite quickly. You are then unstrapped and let out.
The next ride is the Metallica one and instead of it being a thrill ride as such it's more of a thrilling visual experience. It is called The Battle of Music and is taglined with ...Ride the Lightning. The riders (it can hold a few as it's quite long) are put into a monorail style train which has tge top blown off so you can see much easier. The track playing is One and the ride is baased on the war story of the song and music video. There are various segments based on the tempo. The intro with the calm solos is soldiers preparing for war. During the fast solo the train passes through an epic warzone and the train violently shakes. There are also a few other 4-D treats on this ride.
The next ride is the Anthrax one and it is called The Indians Rapids. Based around the song Indians this ride is another water one and is a rapids ride. The riders are put in a circular carriage and are set off down to water. The scenery is vaguely stereotypical of Native American culture (wigwams and stuff). The song is also obviously Indians. Again, based on the tempo of the song the ride becomes more or less thrilling. The highlight of the ride is entering a dark shack and a Native American is slightly lit up and an arrow being fired sfx plays and an arrow on the other side of you lights up. When you are distracted by this this carriage goes down a big and dark drop, drenching you. You then exit.
The final ride is the Slayer one and the Slayer ride obviously has to be a horror/dark ride, so it is. It is called Red Storm. The song Raining Blood plays. The 4-person carriage enters the ride and it's very dark and the thundering intro of the song plays, making lights flash. When the intro riff starts the whole room flashes and you see it's all red and dripping. You turn and the speedy riff starts. The ride rushes through gruesome scenes and the penultimate moment is meeting a bloody, red cloud. The cart slowly approaches and as a quick shock a scream is played. When slowly approaching the cloud, it starts raining, red (the riders are pre-warned about this moment). The riders go through the rain and an evil laugh is heard. The riders then exit.

So, that is my theme park. I did want to have a Black Sabbath ride but I didn't have any ideas and I also had another Anthrax ride called Madhouse, but 2 horror rides are enough.

Top 10 #1: Top 10 Gaming Disappointments of the Decade

Lets kick of the top 10s with a Top 10 Gaming Disappointments of the Decade!

Let's kick off with...
Number 10:- Kinect
Ugh. I wasn't really expecting much from this anyway, so thats why it's number 10. This piece of kit got HUGE press. "Oh, it's revolutionary. It tracks your body". Bollocks, so did EyeToy. I was impressed by about 2 games on Kinect Adventures, the leak one and the hit ball one. The raft one was just annoying as it had to be perfectly synchronized, the one where your on a platform going along was just really badly done and the space one was just really dull. Third-party games are awful. Game Party and Motion Sports were so badly done and 'cause I'm tall I had to sit to duck on the American Football Game.
Bad.

Now for an arcade disappointment...
Number 9: House of the Dead 4 Arcade Only
Sure, you may think "Oh Well, we got Overkill". While Overkill is good, House of the Dead 4 is awesome. There are always loads of zombies on the screen and as always the bosses are amazing. It wasn't released on any console though, which I found disappointing. I'd like to get to the final boss without churning out pound coins. They have said it might happen if Overkill sells well, but still nothing. I am expecting nothing.
Aw...

You know what's next! It is...
Number 8:- Rock Band 3 Keyboard
To be fair, this isn't really the keyboard because actually using of it as it's quite fun. It's really more the horrible tutorials they give you. No little video to help with placing your fingers, just some text that goes on about crossing your fingers under or something or other. If you do well on a section three times you've mastered it. Uhh, no. I just played it three times, I don't think I can do it blindfolded. The song learning ones are worse. They give you about 5 parts of the song and don't explain anything.
Poorly Done.

More music games? You'll see...
Number 7:- Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock's DLC
There have been loads of complaints about the bad DLC output, and I gotta say I agree. 9 packs since September? I don't think so. While the DLC has been very good and I have every pack (not Telephanasm, and the KISS-Mas one isn't even available as a pack) the fact that they only do it sometimes is bad. What's really pissed me off is the Xbox Exclusive pack (and that they got MCR free). Great songs in there, and Muse, a band people have been requesting forever. I want to play Na Na Na and Resistance, so give us that pack Activision!
Grr.

Let's get away from rhythm gaming and go to...
Number 6:- No Rollercoaster Tycoon 4
:( I used to absolutely love this game. RCT2 was just amazing. Making coasters, naming customers stupid names, naming chip shops after my local ones... Ah, it was all too good. IGN have had a RCT4 page up for ages but at the moment, nothing. I am sad that the series seems cancelled or stopped as it was a childhood favourite along with Theme Park Inc.
*cries*

Now lets get onto something I didn't expect which is...
Number 5:- PS3 Launch Titles
I am so happy I continued with the PS3 because I was very disappointed with the launch titles. Resistance was the biggest. I found it quite dull at best. Motorstorm wasn't the best of racers, and for me I found enjoyment in crashing repeatedly (although Apocalypse looks awesome). SO happy I stuck with the PS3 after though. Too many amazing games.
Phew.

Now let me let off some steam with...
Number 4:- Mass Effect 2 Wins Game of the Year 2010
Yes, I was genuinely annoyed and disappointed when this got GOTY. It's a mediocre RPG at best, and it's not hard to be a good RPG. No, this is not because it is an Xbox exclusive (well, was) and I won't be purchasing it when it comes to PS3 either. Loads of great games arrived in 2010, and they give it to this game. Worst GOTY ever.
FAILURE!

Music game? Not really but here is...
Number 3:- Metalocalypse: Dethgame CANCELED
Yes, there was going to be a game based on DETHKLOK! Too bad it was canceled as it look bloody nuts! It seemed violent and had some deadly means of death. Also, you could piss on your enemies. It had an awesome metal soundtrack (or, The Dethalbum) and by the looks of it would be a great game. Sure, it doesn't look great but it was probably early footage.
Nooo!

Now for something that is complimenting Xbox, it is...
Number 2:- Amped 3: Xbox Exclusive
I absolutely love this game. Too bad it was on a rubbish console. It's a very funny, clever and crazy game. I really wish this game comes to PS3. I'd love to do the 2 player 'hurting' mission with my friends as I'm sure it'd get him into snowboarding games. I do hope they pull a 'Mass Effect 2' and un-Xbox Exclusive it as I really think it would sell well.
Ah, what!?

And now, for a huge disappointment and fail it is...
Number 1:- The Sims 3
I hope I'm not the only person who thinks this. The Sims 3 was awful. For a start, it had way too high capability needs, so it wouldn't run right. Perhaps not it's fault. Next, they gave you one neighborhood and no ability to create others. This is where the game was really awful. I loved creating miniature towns where all the townsfolk knew each other. I even made a Big Brother house! The Sims 3 has none of that and is wrecked by it's over-complicated nature. It doesn't have to fun, casual appeal of The Sims 2 and is the biggest Gaming Disappointment of the Decade.

And that concludes the list. Feel free to comment on the placings and what disappointed you.

Review #3: LittleBigPlanet 2

Hell to the fucking yeah!

Clue explanations anyone?
Stephen Fry:- Narrator
Out on Friday 21st January:- Explanatory
Mentioned highly on my Twitter:- Explanatory

First off, let's get the story outta the way before I explain how glorious this game is. Basically the level begins with a 'level' where you see all the developers etc. At the end however, you are attacked by the Negativatron who is the primary antagonist of the game. You visit 6 worlds, the final one being The Cosmos. I won't spoil the story but I will say the characters are Larry Da Vinci, Victoria, Clive, Avalon, Eve and Dr. Higginbotham. They are all voice acted in the main cutscene levels and they are so cheesy its brilliant.
The story mode is a very fun part of the game and the new features such as the grappling hook are brilliant. All of the worlds have a few extra levels which can be versus, survival challenges of prize levels. Tower of Whoop is one of these.
Now, it's LittleBigPlanet. Yes, that means creating! The creating tools in this game are so amazing you will spend hours fiddling with the tools and making levels. The controllinator is the most creative thing since the Swiss Army Knife. You can map your controller to anything. For example, you could add an advanced mover into its logic and set the up and down controls for it. Simple enough. Or you could go a step further and make the player hold X to start the engine or whatever.
Another new feature is the option to build versus levels. I tried my hand at one (this very one infact) and it came out quite well. Started up with a little cutscene with the rules, a nice big camera to view to whole level, 10 points for shooting the opponent. It worked very well and was very simple. The next thing I completed was a survival challenge called The Collector's Return. You are fired at with little firey minotaur sackbots and you have to dodge them. 1 point a second. Used a score giver logic, set it to each second and it worked a treat.
Of course, I bought the Collector's Edition so I got the lovely steelbook case. I also got 7 great costumes: Toy Story Alien, Clu from Tron, The Great Gonzo, Mandrill, Cobra, Vulture and Crocodile. The costumes in this game are as wacky as ever. You will want to find all of the pieces.
There are some cool little easter eggs in the game like in-game versions of Breakout and Pong. There is also a claw game, which is as impossible as it's real life counterpart.

Phenomenal Game and I recommend any PS3 user to have this in their collection. I gotta give it perfect score, 10/10!

Clues Now!
Lets Move!
Usain Bolt is one
How about some Bocce?

Wait, they changed the video pages too? SHIT! (AKA Rant #3: Youtube Failure 2.0)

Oh god. They can't resist fucking youtube up can they.
As if the permanent homepage change wasn't bad enough they have changed the look of pages with the video on. This has removed the little tab that you click on to get about 20 videos. This is gone now. Some big channels have latest videos underneath the video, but that's only on a few videos.
Google are totally destroying anything that is good on the internet, maybe not this website but still. All the things they say are good are actually bollocks. Forcing changes to us, the people who get you your money, wont gain you any fans. You cant even stop your own website being shit (Google Images change) so dont try to make others better.

Pricks.

Mini Snack Battle #1: Salted Popcorn vs Sweet Popcorn

First off, salted.
I haven't much experience with salted popcorn. I always thought it'd be disgusting. When I tried it I was pleasantly surprised. It has a nice taste too it. It's like salted nuts a bit. They aren't really bitter unless you get a badly done box where a load of salt ends up at the bottom.
Next, sweet. This is the traditional cinema flavour and I can see why. It has a very pleasing sweetness to it but not enough to give you toothache. The popcorn seems to be suited to sugar a lot more than it is salt. My main gripe is that sometimes the little shell things get in the sugar which isn't very nice.

All in all, I gotta say Sweet takes this one. Slated is nice if you are a bit bored of sweet but if you want a proper, traditional and probably better suited flavour go with sweet.

(don't worry. Review is tomorrow. Unexpected homework pile ftl)

Smackdown vs Raw 2011 Content Preview #2: The Killjoys (Various)

No video this time. Sorry.

The Killjoys are a 5-member stable, not signed to any brand in the WWE. I will not be mentioning the names as of yet.
They all come out to the My Chemical Romance song Na Na Na. Each one has 2 costumes, their Killjoy outfit and their 'other job' outfit. For example, one member is also a rapper. Each one serves a different purpose. They each have a style. There is a high-flier and a powerhouse. This gives a bit of diversity in the members.
They are fully introduced in a story named 'The Killjoys'. This story will highlight how they met each other, among other things.
Each member has 2 custom finishers specific to their style. They also have a completely custom moveset. They also have varied relationships. The members get on well with other members better than others. Each member has the same 4 created signs.

I won't give too much away in the story, but let's say they get into a huge rivalry with a stable of actual WWE superstars named The Experience Squad.

Guitar Hero VII: Battle for the Earth DLC: March 2012

Unknowingly, I gave 4 clues for March. Turns out there are 5 Tuesdays. Fail. I just threw in a CKY pack.

Tuesday 1st March: Paul Gilbert Track Pack
2010, Rock, Guitar Tier: 7/10

2008, Rock, Guitar Tier: 8/10

2000, Hard Rock, Guitar Tier: 8/10

Tuesday 8th March: Muse Track Pack
2003, Metal, Guitar Tier: 6/10

2003, Alternative, Guitar Tier: 5/10

2003, Alternative, Guitar Tier: 5/10

2006, Alternative, Guitar Tier: 3/10

Tuesday 15th March: Death Track Pack
1987, Death Metal, Guitar Tier: 6/10

1991, Death Metal, Guitar Tier: 9/10

1991, Death Metal, Guitar Tier: 7/10

Tuesday 22nd March: Queensrÿche Track Pack
1983, Metal, Guitar Tier: 7/10

1990, Rock, Guitar Tier: 3/10

1990, Rock, Guitar Tier: 4/10

Tuesday 29th March: CKY Track Pack
1999, Hard Rock, Guitar Tier: 3/10

2009, Hard Rock, Guitar Tier: 3/10

2002, Hard Rock, Guitar Tier: 3/10

Ookay. This, I suppose, is a bit of a hard month (har har har -_-) compared to January and February but still I think everyone could find something here.

Let's kick off with a nice little pack of Paul Gilbert songs. These are all difficult songs and would be very fun for guitarists. These aren't exactly his most well-known songs but if they a good and fun then what is the big problem. I think this pack would be very popular with the veteran players looking for a treat. These songs could also be good for average to good drummers.

Next up we have a 4-pack of Muse. This would sell very well. Yes, I know I have used 3 Absolution songs. Sorry. Stockholm Syndrome will be incredibly fun on everything but guitar and drums are the highlights. Hysteria is a huge record of theirs, a great bassline and guitar solo makes a great Guitar Hero song. Time is Running Out is just too god damn catching, and if you resist the urge to click then I pity you. Oh, it's also got good guitar parts. Starlight is a very good song even if it is overplayed. Guitar would be simple but if they charted that synth near the end the fun-ness would ramp up.

RAWR, DEATH! Hells yeah, Death metal. All these songs, especially Cosmic Ocean would be the absolute bomb on guitar. Drums are just absolutely nuts and have some very fast double bass blasts. This pack would be absolutely excellent for pro drummers and guitarists. Vocalists, however, have nothing to do in one song and only talkies in the others. :/

Jet City WOOO- nah. This pack would sell well with fans of, well, the band for a start but it could also be good for the classic-but-not-quite-old-enough rock fans. Queen of the Reich would be amazing on guitar having an amazing riff and solo. Silent Lucidity isn't very hard but amazing musically so that's good for less-challenge-wanting players. Empire isn't too hard either, but heavier than Silent Lucidity so more headbanger fans would like it.

Lastly, a surprise pack from CKY. None of these songs are particularly challenging on guitar but they are well known *cough*THPS*cough* so they would appeal to more people. Hellions on Parade would possibly be the most fun guitar song and they would all be fun on drums. This is like the 'easy' pack of the month but I think it could probably sell well.

CLUES!
5th April: Signed to Sire Records and are from Helsinki.
12th April: Former vocalist was Ronnie Radke.
19th April: WCPR-FM played their biggest hit, getting them signed.
26th April: Vocalist was in a band called The Dropouts, and when he formed this band they formed The Stills.

New YouTube Homepage: FAILURE (AKA Rant #2: Youtube Homepages)

This is my first actual rant and it is on the new youtube homepages.
These new homepages take away all off the simple titled bits like Friend Activity and completely muddled it up with subscriptions. This in itself is a stupid idea as subscriptions are meant to be quick ways to view your favorite video makers new videos. They claim this was done because you can now see all the videos they have made at once. Why do that? If we click the cross the other ones pop up anyway. Logic?
Another, and possibly the most stupid, point is the fact all the comments,  invites etc section has been shoved into one envelope. You cannot easily access specifically comment quickly anymore.
This isn't the first time they forced something upon us. The channel change was another awful idea. This one was worse. They always break the working and never fix the broken.

Well done Google, give yourself 500 fail points and shoot yourselves.

On the bright side, LittleBigPlanet 2 came a day early. It's amazing and I will explain why soon.

Mini Review #1: Trebor Gum

Should Trebor have made gum? This is why they should of.
I had a packet on my desk and it was gone in like 3 days. It's strange. It's like having an Extra in your mouth but it has the epic Trebor Extra Strong taste which is really cool. Another, very important, point is that it lasts for ages (take notes 5) and could literally chew it for a day. If your diabetic it's also sugar-free, yay.
It is my favourite chewing gum now and I hope they bring out a spearmint one and fruit ones!

Tuesday 21st February: Judas Priest Track Pack
1980, Metal, Guitar Tier: 2/10

1984, Metal, Guitar Tier: 4/10

1974, Metal, Guitar Tier: 5/10

1988, Metal, Guitar Tier: 8/10
1984, Metal, Guitar Tier: 5/10
1990, Metal, Guitar Tier: 9/10

Tuesday 28th February: Snot Track Pack
1997, Punk, Guitar Tier: 8/10

1997, Punk, Guitar Tier: 5/10
1997, Punk, Guitar Tier: 6/10

First off, I started off with a Kings of Leon pack and this is to appeal to the more mainstream fans. They have some very good older songs that would be fun and so has their new album. I also used Use Somebody. Sorry everybody. These songs would be easy on guitar but I'd imagine would be difficult on vocals. The Bucket also sounds incredibly fun on drums.
Next, how a bit of Old Go- Poets of the Fall. Very good cinematic band. This is a weird pack. The 1st song sounds very hard on guitar but the others (other than one bit in Sorry Go 'Round) sound very easy. Drums don't sound overly difficult for experienced players and bass shouldn't be a big problem. Vocalist might have a very fun time with these songs as they sound difficult.
Ah, good ol' Halford. I chose this because it sounds like an amazing pack to have on Guitar Hero. All the songs, even the easy ones, sound very fun to play on guitar, drums and vocals. Bass I'm not 100% about though, but I bet they would be fun! Yes, I used Painkiller but it's it's not the first time a song has been repeated *cough*Free Bird*cough* and it'd be brilliant anyway. A challenging pack for old school metal fans.
And finally, a good bit of Punk Metal. Snot were mental and Lynn was brilliant. R.I.P. btw. Snot would be very fun on everything and also tough (well, not vocals). The other too, not as hard but still very awesome songs that would find their place in my library. Drums would be the stand-out here as they sound very though on all of the songs.

Next Months Clues

Review #2: Create

Yep. Next review is for Create.
Clue Explanations
Released on November 26th, 2010 - Obvious
Lots of solving challenges involved - View Video
Similar to a retail Fantastic Contraption - View Video

How can I review a really bright, nice game directly after a game where blood is the currency!?
Create is a very lovely looking game for the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, Windows and Mac. I own the PS3 version and my god does it look vibrant. I mean, if you run the game through a HDMI output you'd think your looking at a photograph, it looks that good.
There are quite a lot of worlds to explore, which is good because one world won't take you long, 20 mins max (including chains, explanation soon). They all feature 10 challenges as far as I know and they can be 4 different things (Object, Pickup, Contraption-o-Matic or Scoretacular). They all consist of different things to do.
Every challenge and chain will give you sparks. Every spark unlocks a new unlockable and yes that will mean a huge amount of unlockables. Quickly, I will explain chains. Chains are not really challenges, but more like little things to gain sparks. There are 5 in every level. The can consist of placing a sticker and using a texture brush. These are good to get quick sparks if you are are stuck on a level.
Next, I will go over the challenge types.
First up is the object challenges. Very simply, you have to get from point a to point be. For example, launching a go-kart through a flaming hoop. Pick-up challenges are basically the same but there are bonus sparks scattered around the level that the key object (e.g. a car) can collect. Contraption-o-Matic challenges give you a space to work with and to make something (like a working car) in a certain amount of pieces. Doing it with less pieces gives more sparks, but you can also complicate it later. Lastly, Scoretacular challenges give you a task like get some petrol to a dune buggy but you have to get a high score by getting the key object to tough others, gaining a multiplier.
The create tools in this game aren't incredibly in depth but it's fun to basically make your own levels. You can paint walls what colour you want and place props where you like. Also, when not doing a challenge you can build your own machine which is good. Also, you can make them into challenges which you can upload for others to do.
There are a wide variety of things to create with, such as props, stickers, texture brushes... You can make the level look like whatever you want. You can make it look like a hot, dry desert or a chilly iceberg. Also, everything you unlock corresponds with the area your in. For example, if you are in Transportasia (the transport place, obviously) you will unlock a car. If you are in the fun fair you'll get a ride.

Create is a very fun budget title and you can find it for as cheap as a tenner in some places! Amazing. It's totally worth 20 which I picked up my copy for and I highly recommend it to, let's say 'intellectuals' but if you have a good imagination you will enjoy this game a lot.
I will give it 8/10. It is very fun for what it is and you will enjoy it if you are creative. It's not very in depth though, and it's not the most exciting game title either.

But anyway, get ready to

Smackdown vs Raw 2011 Content Preview #1: Black's Arrival (Story)

Before we start, the guy in black (AKA Not Triple H) is Mr. Black.
Next, a basic overview of what I do in these blogs. Basically, I will give a sneak peak of some Smackdown vs Raw 2011 content I am making.
First off is this story which gives a basic overview of Mr. Black's arrival in the WWE. He gets straight in by fighting Kane, John Cena or Triple H and is promised a WWE Championship shot at CM Punk at the Royal Rumble. If you defeat or lose against who you pick you will end up in a match with CM Punk but only winning will give a title shot. If you get your opponent completely red a bonus section will play where the superstar you picked will be taken out on a stretcher.
If you lose you will end up facing CM Punk in a TLC match on Raw and if you get the oppenent red you will fight on Superstars.
During week 2 CM Punk will start up CM Punk'd which challenges the public to fight him. Mr. Black brings out Alpha. Again, you can win or lose but if you win Mr. McMahon will sign Alpha and Mr. Black & Alpha form 'Black Death'.

That's all I am gonna talk about at this time. Check back tomorrow for my new review and on Wednesday for the Guitar Hero VII: Battle for the Earth February DLC.

The DLC Analysis #1: January Mega Pack

First, let's do an overview of the Nine Inch Nails songs.
Head Like a Hole is first. I very nearly didn't 5 star this. I kept losing my combo when I didn't realise notes were coming, very big guitar gaps in this one. While there are many gaps in the song the bits where guitar IS present are fun to play. The song does drag on way too much though. Oh, and HOO!
Now for the best song, The Hand That Feeds. I got this correct in the January DLC prediction thread! This is the best, guitar-wise and, although it takes a while to start up, it is prominent throughout the song and is fun to play. That riff gets trapped in my head too >:(
Closer is also good on guitar, and possibly the trickiest. Those tap parts are good to do. The extended synth chords are good too, because I can play them a drink a cuppa at the same time, which is important if you drink tea like its going up to a tenner for 1 teabag.

Next up the second there pack, A Day to Remember. I didn't get NJ Legion Iced Tea but I assume these are more fun due to the tiers.
Let's do 2nd Sucks first, as it's the shortest. Guitar is good fun on this song, and not too hard. This is also the most screamy track in the pack. No solo, but that riff is good to play and those mino tremelo chords are a bit tricky to hit. This song is also TOO SHORT!
All I Want now. Totally different to 2nd Sucks, much more Pop Punk. The guitar chart is much more fun though. That riff is very good at the start but really sticks out is that tremelo picking. Very difficult to hit and also very brilliant to play!
And finally, Downfall of Us All. This is the only song I knew before I played the pack. It's still awesome. The guitar chart is nowhere near as fun as All I Want although if you know the song it's a bit better. I also like the addition of the Dah's.
Good pack, but lack of The Plot to Bomb the Panhandle is disappointing.

Next up, kicking off the single songs, is HIM with Wings of a Butterfly. This song, surprisingly, was a blast on guitar and didn't deserve a 3. It was very fun with those hammer-on bits after the alternating YO or RB parts. The song is also very good too.

Not Niki FM. BAWW. Kidding. Next is Rescue Me by Hawthorne Hearts. This song was also very good on guitar. That riff is good fun to play as it changes a bit sometimes and while that solo is quiet easy it is fun to play. I also like the song musically

Now for Buried Myself Alive. This is also the only single song from a band that had DLC before, FUN FACT! The tap bits were very fun to play on guitar and the chorus riff is very good to play. Never really liked The Used but this song is very good.

Count the beard types in that pick, I dare ya! This song is really awesome on guitar as those solos are very good to play and the riff is also very good. This Anthrax-Every Time I Die-Fall Out Boy mix is also very weird but it works. Brilliant.

So that's it for my guitar review of the January Mega Pack. I give it 9/10, Nine Inch Nails songs have too many breaks.

Wotsits vs Quavers: The Cheesy Snack Battle - January Edition

Too cheesy snacks, which comes out top?

Fist off, Wotsits.
They are the most cheesy of the two, but also the highest in calories (like I care -_-). They have the most dull shape of the 2 but the best name. Wotsits are much more melt in the mouth and its fun to see how 'pulpy' you can get them, infact it mentions this on the bag. I really like the flavour, as it doesn't lack in cheesiness (hint hint Mini Cheddars). The worst thing is the mess. You are covered in cheesy powder by the end of the bag.

Now, Quavers.
Not as cheesy as Wotsits, but you can taste the cheese flavour there. They are also 12 less calories than Wotsits (:O OMG). The shapes are awesome as you don't know if you'll get a curl or a twirl. It's so exciting! The name just seems a little less exciting. If someone shouted Wotsits you listened in but not so much with Quavers :/. It's pretty much a rule you crunch/bite these as they hardly melt. The flavour is more subtle, but I like it like that. Also, there is much less mess than Wotsits.

Overall, Quavers wins in terms of cooler looking crisps and less mess but in terms of overall taste and the champion of January is Wotsits!

Next month, Ritz vs Cheddars.

Guitar Hero VII: Battle for the Earth DLC: January 2012

As I'm sure Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock DLC has been all decided for 2011 I moved on to 2012.

January 2012
Tuesday 3rd January: My Chemical Romance Track Pack 2
2010, Rock, Guitar Tier: 5/10

2006, Rock, Guitar Tier: 4/10

2002, Rock, Guitar Tier: 6/10

2010, Rock, Guitar Tier: 3/10

2004, Rock, Guitar Tier: 5/10

Tuesday 10th January: Buzzcocks Track Pack
1979, Punk, Guitar Tier: 3/10

2006, Punk, Guitar Tier: 3/10

1996, Punk, Guitar Tier: 3/10

Tuesday 17th January: SOiL Track Pack
2001, Metal, Guitar Tier: 3/10

2004, Hard Rock, Guitar Tier: 3/10

2009, Metal, Guitar Tier: 5/10

Tuesday 24th January: Dokken Track Pack
1987, Metal, Guitar Tier: 6/10

2006, Metal, Guitar Tier: 5/10

1996, Rock, Guitar Tier: 4/10

2010, Metal, Guitar Tier: 6/10

Tuesday 31st January: Duran Duran Track Pack
1981, New Wave, Guitar Tier: 2/10

1983, New Wave, Guitar Tier: 2/10

1982, New Wave, Guitar Tier: 2/10

So for the first  DLC of 2012 how about a nice big 5 pack of My Chemical Romance songs. This would be aimed towards drummers and vocalists, but I think guitarists would be satisfied too. Headfirst for Halos would be great for guitarists and drummers. I Don't Love You isn't very hard on anything but it is very good musically. We Don't Need Another Song About California is hardly known (iTunes bonus of Danger Days) but has a good solo and would be good to play. SING is the easiest on guitar but like I Don't Love You it is very good musically. The Ghost of You may have the unlikely difficulty of Helena and is also very good musically. BONUS!

Next up we have a nice 3 pack of Buzzcocks. These will all be good for drummers but I suppose it would be good for fans of the band too. Al songs have quite simple guitar, bass and vocals but the drums sound quite difficult on all of them. Any people who enjoyed Ever Fallen in love will enjoy these songs to play as they are similar difficulty on everything and are just as good too.

The only debut this month is from Alt Metal band SOiL. All these songs sound quite easy on guitar, except for one part in Like It Is which sounds very hard. On all of them drums sound like a big challenge, especially Breaking Me Down. Most of the songs basslines are similar to guitar so bass isn't too hard. Vocals sound quick and could be hard if they're NOT ALL TALKIES!

Ooh, Dokken. I had to have this pack after the Mr Scary/Dream Warriors dilemma. Pretty much all the songs have epic, and hard, solos that would please the guitarists very much. Vocalists don't get off as easy as Mr Scary! Most of them have challenging vocals that would be very fun to sing.Drums don't have too many tricky bits, and neither does bass.

And to round off the month it is Duran Duran. Not new to the series, but new to DLC! All these songs (priority: Girls on Film) have awaited to be on this game too long and while they wouldn't be that realistic for guitar, drummers would be very happy with the songs. All of them, while not too hard, would be fun on vocals and bass would probably please the bassists.

Soo, yeah, that is todays blog and the first Battle for the Earth DLC. Who wants clues for February?

Review #1: Splatterhouse

Did you guess it? It was Splatterhouse!
Clue explanations
Remake of 1988 game - original Splatterhouse released in 1988
Very violent - watch a video, explains itself!
Jim Cummings voices a main role - The Terror Mask!

Splatterhouse is an incredibly violent game, and wins most violent game of the decade. While it hasn't got the most in-depth story it is certainly fun to play. The splatter kills are absolutely brilliant because of the sheer goriness of them. I mean, if pulling out someones kidneys isn't gory you have no soul.

The game begins with you in beserker mode which Rick (the main character) is too weak for at the beginning, but can eventually be used again. You gain much stronger attacks and grow blades out of your arms to make it much more gruesome.

Speaking of Rick, I haven't really explained the story much. Basically, in the simplest and most un-story wrecking way possible, Rick and his girlfriend Jen go to Dr. Wests mansion for science or something. The screen flashes and Rick is led on the floor bleeding. The terror mask speaks to Rick and says they can save Jenny. Rick puts the mask on and becomes the monster guy.

The game is split up into phases, and after about 2 you face a main boss and are teleported somewhere. Most of the bosses are fought in parts and are very fun and scary. The kill animations for these bosses are very clever and grisly.

Along the game there are some mini-bosses that you see quite often throughout the game, although there are different, more powerful versions. The kill animations for these ones get quite monotonous compared to the main ones but are still really cool.

During each teleportation you can begin to piece together the story and view what you missed when the screen flashed at the start. It does get quite interesting the more you get into it, so you will want to finish the game.

During each phase you will need to collect pieces of pictures of Jen she has left for clues. Some of these are in linear places, but most are in hidden places or behind columns you just walked past so you need to look around to find these.

There is also a mode called Survival Arena which I have not tried yet. Oh, and another very cool thing is that you can unlock the old Splatterhouse games from the arcade which is something if you are into nostalgia, and also the actual game switches up into 2d sometimes, which is a very call homage to the originals.

Splatterhouse is a very fun, and violent, game that has cool boss battles, a great metal soundtrack, collectibles so you won't get bored, good combat and an interesting story. The graphics are also very nice. Overall I will give the game 8.5/10. It is awesome fun, but the repeating splatter kills and awkward camera are just a bit disappointing. But you should get it.

OR I GET YOU

I did not mean... to blow your mind... but my shotgun malfunctions on me... all the tiiiiime (AKA Rant #1: DLC Pranks)

Yes, begin the blog with a stupid joke. That is always advisable if you can't think of a title.
So yeah, todays topic (if you can call it that) is Guitar Hero DLC jokes.

I think the most reported incident of this was the very recent Tenacious D one (hence the title). This excited a LOT of twitter users after it was mentioned by TheHeroFeed. This led to major disappointment.
Another small one that I remember was when someone edited it to 2 6-packs of Dimmu Borgir and Dethklok. This was much less believable. This one was removed shortly after though.

Something else I see is whole Wikipedia pages being made. I'm sure you remember the Guitar Hero: The Beginning one based on Grunge music. Another one was made based on a Muse game which was done well as all the right places were edited.

The reason I made this blog is to rant about all these pranks that go on, and with DLC it is very easy to do so. I mean, what is the point of disappointing a load of curious Wikipedia viewers. I wish this to stop as I am often let down.

On the plus side, the DLC for tomorrow is bloody amazing. Thanks Acti, now do it weekly.

Sunday 9 January 2011

Philadelphia Herb & Garlic Cream Cheese FTW

That stuff is amazing. Along with the Chive one.

Okaay. Aside from the intro, I want to update a few things.

Firstly, the Mega-Pack on tuesday. Great pack and I'm sure it will win DLC wars. NIN ftw. Was not expecting Closer though.

Secondly, my computer is fixed so I can pretty much update each day. So my new years resolution is to, again following my habit of doing alot of what IaSg does, make a blog post every day. You know what, I'll throw in a review each week too. Howsat?

Thirdly, I ate Philadelphia while writing this.

Fourthly, here is clues for my first review:
Remake of 1988 game.
Very violent
Jim Cummings voices a main role

This review will be out... hmm... tuesday.

Guitar Hero VII: Battle for the Earth

Happy New Year! I thought why not kick off the new year with a Guitar Hero 7 setlist! I have named it Guitar Hero VII: Battle for the Earth. Exciting. Each song has a link to a youtube video and the hyperlink on the band/year takes you to the song/single/album/artist page on wikipedia or in one case Myspace music! It features SIX 10/10 songs on guitar. Yes there will be DLC based on 2012 dates.
Enjoy.

Prog Rock, Guitar Tier: 8/10
Ah, let’s begin with a nice bit of Neo-Classical. TSO is a fantastic band, and their arrangements of many classical numbers (this one includes Flight of the Bumblebee!) are brilliant. I picked this one because of the difficulty the first half of the song would be, then the epicness of the second half.

Death Metal, Guitar Tier: 10/10
Wow, 2 songs in and we already have 1 of the six 10/10 songs. Death revolutionized death metal. The final (original) song on their final album, and it is absolutely brilliant and would be SO fun. This could possibly be the hardest song by Death for Guitar Hero, and perhaps one of the hardest death metal songs!

Death Metal, Guitar Tier: 8/10
Yay! Grindcore! Perhaps the ‘Deadfall’ of this setlist, short but nuts. Guitar, Bass and Drums would be difficult, but the vocals will all be talkies and would without a doubt be a 1/10. Yet again, Agoraphobic Nosebleed aren’t very well known but to be fair neither was Snot but they made it in and had one of the most entertaining songs ever. This probably wouldn’t get in the final tier but will be very hard.

Alternative, Guitar Tier: 3/10
Ah, finally. Something really well known and widely requested. Cage the Elephant are a good band and Ain’t No Rest is a good Alt song with a Southern, Country feel. Not very impressed with the songs from their upcoming album, but I suppose they might be going in a new, heavier direction. This song would be the same sort of difficulty as How You Remind Me, and would be an easy FC for most players.

Industrial, Guitar Tier: 3/10
Heh... If you can’t get masters you have to improvise. This industrial-esque version of the great Floyd song by members of Alice in Chains, Rage Against the Machine and Jane’s Addiction is very good and I wouldn’t mind this (or the original if they could get masters) in the game. Also, perfect song for school rebellion.

Death Metal, Guitar Tier: 6/10
Wait... what? A death metal Britney cover? HELLZ YEAH! August Burns Red are amazing (although hardly punk -_-) and I really wanted something from the ‘Punk Goes...’ series and, well, this is my pick. This also reminds me of Children of Bodom’s (we’ll get to them later) cover of ‘Oops! I Did it Again’ and anything that reminds me of CoB is a winner in my books!

Alternative, Guitar Tier: 5/10
Inb4NEEDZ2BELIVEORZ. Yes, a non live Phish song, whatever next? This song may not be as hard as the old GH pack, but it features a very good solo that could mess up a few FC attempts. Phish are one of the most original bands out there and I am 100% sure they have the most albums released in general (perhaps competing with Zappa) but if not, definitely the most Live albums.

Speed Metal, Guitar Tier: 10/10
And now... representing Swindon is... the second 10/10 so far. This song, will make your fingers fall off. Definitely the fastest song in this list, but also one of the shortest (1:54). Even though this song is very short, if the tiering went up to 100, it would reach it. The speed of it is just crazy, fastest female shredder by 450 million miles.

Speed Metal, Guitar Tier: 8/10
NOT MOAR BEETHOVEN. Btw, who thought it would be DragonFORCE? ^_^ We’ll get there soon. This piece of epic is not really sampling any sort of Beethoven composition by the looks of it, but it very good and would pose a challenge. Vocals are amazing, and is very classical-heavy, almost making it classical instead of neo-classical.

Metal, Guitar Tier: 5/10
Oh look, a GH3 repeat. Now I get 4697 comments about it. It was a COVER and it had no band support (like Sharp Dressed Man). Not really a big solo anywhere, but the riff seems to be tricky. Drums has a few tough fills and vocals would be relatively easy. Bass is bass, seems to be a simple riff.

Metal, Guitar Tier: 7/10
Finally, The D! This is probably the toughest song by them besides Master Exploder. Drums are really difficult. Vocals could be high tiered, but it seems quite a bit could be charted as talkies which could lower the difficulty. Bass seems to have the same riff as guitar, and in terms of bass that if quite hard. Also, that mini guitar solo is epic.

Alternative, Guitar Tier: 5/10
Oh noes, a Rock Band on-disc repeat! Don’t worry, these are few and far between. This song is definitely hardest on guitar with that fast strumming section. Drums are over simple except for that possible sightread FC-busting fill at 2:45. Vocals have a few high parts and seem to be average difficulty.

Speed Metal, Guitar Tier: 9/10
The first of 4 2010 songs is by guitar god Yngwie Malmsteen, with vocals from the epic Tim Owens. This song starts up with 30 seconds of, what seems to be, Arabic inspired shredding. At 2:26 the crazy solo kicks in. The rest of the song has small solos and a hard riff. It would be very hard on guitar, average on drums, maybe quite hard on vocals and average on bass.

Alternative, Guitar Tier: 3/10
To be fair, this song probably isn’t 100% alt, but if Pop Alt existed it would go into that category. Guitar seems easy but could be a bit trickier if piano was charted. Drums and Vocals would be the stand out instruments. Vocals would tricky because it’s quite high and drums has lots of fills in places. Bass seems easy and probably get 1 or 2/10.

Punk, Guitar Tier: 3/10
Shrek ftw. This song sounds quite simple on guitar but could pull of a 3 easily. Drums sounds very tricky being fast and having lots of hard parts. Bass sounds like it has a riff similar to the guitar one so it would be of average difficulty. Vocals probably aren’t too hard but would be fun to sing.

Indie Rock, Guitar Tier: 2/10
This is definitely the easiest song. The song has hardly no guitar in, but the riff seems average so it’s been bumped up to a (low) 2/10. Drums would be easy too, just a few rolls in there for good measure. Vocals seem to be really simple too, and so is bass. Wow, this song is really easy.

Pop Punk, Guitar Tier: 7/10
This song is very awesome, I need it! Yes, I think it could pull off a 7/10 for guitar as it has very rapid strumming and very difficult hammer-on sections. Vocals would be very fun and would be very difficult. Drums would also be very fun having some tricky fills. Bass would be the easiest instrument having a quite slow riff but would be OK to play.

Metal, Guitar Tier: 7/10
Ok, this song is hardly as difficult as Speeding, but it is so damn catchy, and has vocals so that’s a bonus. The song really picks up near the end. Drums would be the hardest on this song, and vocals would be great if it charted those random noises. This song, to me, sounds like a crazy mashup of Jazz, Funk and Metal and is pretty great.

Punk, Guitar Tier: 4/10
Okay, I’ll get this out of the way quickly. This song is probably not punk. Tiger Army is a Psychobilly band, but seeing as that isn’t a valid GH genre, Punk is the closest I could get. Guitar seems fairly average and quite chordy but at the end it seems to get harder. Drums would be the hardest instrument, starting with a quick roll. Vocals would be average and so would bass.

Alternative, Guitar Tier: 2/10
Another easy song, by a relatively known band. Elbow are a good band, and are probably better known by their song Grounds for Divorce. This song has very simple drums, average bass and easy guitar. Vocals could possibly be difficult because of the changes between low pitch and high pitch.

Rock, Guitar Tier: 8/10
21 songs in and already 4 guitar virtuosos have been revealed! Not a very well known song, but his most known is stupidly short. This is probably the only very high tier song that isn’t metal. Speed Rock is probably the most precise genre. There are lots of mini solos in this song. Drums seem very average until the last 20 seconds where they go crazy. Bass follows a simple riff and would be easy.

Southern Rock, Guitar Tier: 5/10
The title track of their 1976 album is a short song for LS but it seems to be average. It sounds like Stray Cat Blues, as in it sounds like a very long solo. Drums seem quite easy but a few rolls may be quite annoying. Bass sounds like it has a tricky riff, and in terms of bass difficulty could probably reach a 6 or 7. Vocals are pretty average and have a constant pitch.

Blues Rock, Guitar Tier: 4/10
Why this song hasn’t been used I don’t know. We had a FIVE pack and this wasn’t in it. This song if brilliant. Guitar seems to be fairly simple, but the solos could be fun. Drums seem quite tricky. Bass seems average. What really stands out is the vocals. This song makes me wish GH had harmonies. I really need to sing “WAAR, CHILDREN! ITS JUST A SHOT AWAY”.

Southern Rock, Guitar Tier: 4/10
Wait... an Outlaws song? Only a four? Yes, it may not be the crazy piece of music that GGAHT is but it is a nice song with some good guitar parts. Drums are a bit simple, following an average double-hit pattern. Vocals seem quite deep and some people may have trouble with them. Bass is nowhere near as hard as GGAHT and would be easy.

Nu Metal, Guitar Tier: 4/10
The only Evanescence we’ve had was Bring Me to Life on Band Hero... They deserve another song on the games. This song is very good, from their (in my opinion) superior album. The riff is quite simple but even that tiny solo is enough to raise it to a 4. Vocals would be difficult due to Amy Lee’s operatic voice. Drums would be average and bass follows the same sort of riff as guitar.

Metal, Guitar Tier: 4/10
Black Sabbath, Foo Fighters and Queen? All in one? WOO! This song is relatively simple on all instruments, but come on... It’s Black Queen Fighters! It also has the longest artist name in the game. Oh yeah, and it is the most known Iommi song (well, off that album) as it reached #10 on Mainstream Rock.

Blues Rock, Guitar Tier: 4/10
This song isn’t exactly Steppenwolf’s most well known song but I figured it is the most fun for all instruments. Guitar has some good parts in. Bass follows a simple riff and would be pretty easy. Vocals are good but probably not too hard. Drums are the stand-out instrument, following a tricky pattern and having some tough rolls in places.

Prog Rock, Guitar Tier: 8/10
This song is probably the hardest band song. Guitar would be very fun, having lots of fast solos. Drums would be absolutely nuts, being very fast and having very hard patterns. Bass has a challenging riff and would be tricky to play. Vocals would be absolutely impossible if they charted all that random yodeling crap.

Hard Rock, Guitar Tier: 6/10
Is it The Crickets? Is it the Bob Fuller Four? Is it The Clash? Is it Green Day? No, it is a cover done for the movie Trailer Park Boys. This band features members from a few bands, the most famous bands being Rush and Three Days Grace. Guitar would be of moderate difficulty. Geddy’s bass gets the hardest instrument as it is fast. Drums seem difficult too, and vocals could maybe pose a challenge

Southern Rock, Guitar Tier: 4/10
It’s a cover of a Screamin’ Jay Hawkins song, awesome. It features a very good, and rather lengthy, guitar solo. Vocals seem very... hmm... soul-y which is rare for John Fogerty. Drums has a simple pattern but the end would be hard due to the fast rolls. Bass has a simple riff that would be easy to hit.

Alternative, Guitar Tier: 6/10
This is possibly the hardest The White Stripes song for guitar, if they charted those improvised synth solos. The riff is also quite tricky too, but not overly difficult. Drums are, ahem, Meg White drums which means (yes you’ve guessed it) very easy. Vocals could be hard, but there are loads of breaks. Bass seems very simple too.

Speed Metal, Guitar Tier: 10/10
I told you that we would get here soon. The third 10/10 song. This would be a good final song, but it seems so cliché that Dragonforce get the spot so I chose someone else, equally as difficult. This song is by Dragonforce, so as you expect very hard on everything. I love the build-up to the solo with the marching drums. Not the hardest DF song for guitar, but still would be very good musically.

Metal, Guitar Tier: 8/10
Drone Metal... scares me. This band... scares me. This song... really scares me. On the plus side, it is basically 6 minutes of pure tremolo picking and would be VERY tiring. Vocals would be a 1, as there are only talkies, scary talkies. There are no drums but bass could be charted to the other guitar bit... or the bass bit... I DONT KNOW ANYMORE!

Alternative, Guitar Tier: 3/10
This songs vocals are so win. The guitar seems to be simple but I think it probably worthies a 3. Drums are the most difficult instrument, getting quite quick near the end. The lolvocals would be very easy as they would most likely be charted as talkies because i sounds like shouting. Bass sounds harder than guitar and would be fun I suppose.

Rock, Guitar Tier: 9/10
Our 5th virtuoso and 35 songs through the setlist. Yes, I didn’t choose Get You Back or Grey Pianos Flying! Who cares, this song is full of win. The guitar would be very fun and drums sound very jazz-esque along with the epic bassline. All instruments would be tough, apart from vocals of course. R.I.P. Shawn Lane.

Indie Rock, Guitar Tier: 4/10
Ah, here come the underground bands. Deerhunter isn’t a household name and their best place in the Billboard 200 is 37, but they are good Noise band. That bassline is SO simple but very catchy and those drums sound a bit tricky. Not the most well known song in this setlist, but it is not bad and I suppose it could be fun on a few instruments.

Prog Rock, Guitar Tier: 7/10
Okay, so maybe it isn’t the mess of notes Scatterbrain was, but it still seems difficult in places. Drums wouldn’t be as hard either, but still it seems like an awkward rhythm. Bass has a continuous riff and has quiet a few breaks so it would be easy. We need more Jeff Beck, as he is a great guitarist.

Alternative, Guitar Tier: 3/10
Lets face it, Guitar Hero love Foo Fighters. Even after the Kurt Cobain incident Grohl doesn’t mind lending his songs from some cash. This song is ok on guitar with a good solo. Drums are the stand-out instrument sounding fast and difficult. Bass sounds average, having a simple riff. Vocals seem the same pitch through the song, so they are quite easy.

Punk, Guitar Tier: 5/10
Iggy Pop is badass. I was divided on this or The Passenger, but I chose this because it is probably more fun. This song was on Just Dance so it shouldn’t be to hard to get. Guitar would be hard due that solo. Drums seem average to tricky. The pattern seems awkward but easy due to repetitiveness. Vocals are very Iggy Pop, and would be ok. Bass follows the same riff as guitar.

Hard Rock, Guitar Tier: 7/10
Wait, Deep Purple was around in the 60s? This song isn’t THAT well known but it is very good and slightly funky. Guitar would be difficult if they charted the keyboard solo, but the guitar one sounds tough too. Drums are very difficult, being fast and having a crazy pattern. There are hardly any vocals, so that gets a low tier. Bass has a good riff, but is quite simple.

Alternative, Guitar Hero: 5/10
Muse are one of my favourite bands. This song shows each band members talent. Guitar, while quite simple, sounds absolutely brilliant. Drums are quite Resistance-like, being a long roll, and would be tiring. Vocals are high and would be tough. Bass has a nice riff but would be simple. No, it isn’t a shred-o-rama but it’s great musically.

Metal, Guitar Tier: 6/10
SO I was thinking... this or Panasonic Youth? I chose this because it sounded more fun and it’s longer. Vocals has a lot of screaming so the tier drops a bit but the normal singing is very good. Drums would be tough and could be an easy 7 or 8. Guitar isn’t as hard as Setting Fire to Sleeping Giants but has one good riff. Bass has the same sort of speed as guitar but would be easier.
Punk, Guitar Tier: 3/10
There is pretty much no good quality version of his song, unless it’s what it’s supposed to sound like. Vocals are stupidly easy, all being shouts. Drums are probably the hardest instrument, even though it’s simple with a few hard bits. Guitar has a continuous riff and is quite easy. Bass has the same riff as guitar. I need the Monster Mash with a special mo-cap!

Death Metal, Guitar Tier: 7/10
Guitar begins very difficult in this song, but the last three minutes the song slows down and gets much easier so the difficulty is dropped. Drums is the only consistently difficult instrument, being very difficult at the beginning and getting slower but still having very hard parts. Bass seems quite quick but yet again slows. Vocals is the only instrument to get harder in the slow section, being normal singing rather than screams.

Metal, Guitar Tier: 9/10
This song is unbelievably difficult on guitar, and I am really trying to hold back giving it a ten. Drums are quick and would be hard too. Bass is the only letdown, being a simple riff that is repetitive. It was a hard decision choosing this or the better musically Dream Warriors, but I went with this because it would probably be better received.

Classic Rock, Guitar Tier: 5/10
Not THAT well known, but is so clever combining Arabic music with hard rock. Vocals would be very hard, as they are quick in places and vary in pitch a lot. Guitar would be average to tricky, especially at those very fast trills near the end. Drums and Bass would be simple, much like Bohemian Rhapsody.

Hard Rock, Guitar Tier: 9/10
This song begins with a very difficult solo, but most of the song consists of a simple riff until the actual solo in the middle. Bass seems to have a simple riff. Drums seem quite average but has a some very fast rolls in there which may challenge some players. This song would also be good with harmonies, but even so it seems to be quite difficult.

Punk, Guitar Tier: 7/10
This song will NEVER be in Guitar Hero, but it is so damn epic. Guitar riff is so brilliant, but not as hard as Deadfall. Bass sounds great too, and would be tricky possibly. Drums are fast and catchy and would be fun to play. Vocals would be SO easy but very quick and who wouldn’t want to shout “MY BALLS, YOUR CHIN!”.

Nu Metal, Guitar Tier: 5/10
Nookie is the only Limp Bizkit on the game, I need more. This song would be censored, a lot. Guitar riff seems average and would be fun to play, but not as hard as Nookie. Bass has a tough riff around the 3rd quarter of the song. Drums sound tough and would be the stand-out instrument. Vocals would mostly be charted as talkies but would be fun to rap to.

Nu Metal, Guitar Tier: 3/10
The first album from KoRn is a good-un. Guitar is easy, and has a simple riff that is relatively slow. Bass has a great sounding riff, but is also simple. Vocals isn’t the piece of work Freak on a Leash is and would be easy but fun at the same time. Drums sound very difficult, having very quick rolls and tricky fills.

Grunge, Guitar Tier: 4/10
This song is much heavier than Plowed and is a lot more Grunge oriented. Vocals would be quite simple being quite the same pitch throughout. Drums are mostly played on about 2 drums so it would be simple. Bass has a simple, continuous riff and would be simple. Guitar has a few tricky bits but nothing too hard.

Experimental, Guitar Tier: 8/10
Who here has played Juiced? Yes, well this is on the soundtrack and it’s great. Guitar has only a few parts but it consists of VERY fast tremolo picking and I suppose those keyboard bits could be charted. Drums are very difficult too and perhaps reach a 9. Vocals could be hard too being varied in pitch. Bass seems to be the most simple instrument.

Pop Punk, Guitar Tier: 5/10
This song starts off nice but then gets much more punk-y. The lyrics are clever and would be fun to sing, but not too hard. Guitar seems to have an unlikely difficulty, much like I’m Not Okay (I Promise). Bass seems to have an average riff and would be simple. Drums aren’t too fast and would be simple. JTX don’t even have a Wikipedia page, but they rock!

Rock, Guitar Tier: 3/10
Bonus points if you know what game this is from. This band is basically a Raconteurs side project. Guitar seems quite simple and would have an even lower tier die to the short length of the song. Drums would be the hardest instrument, having a tricky pattern. Bass has a good riff and would be fun. Vocals seem high and could be hard.

Alternative, Guitar Tier: 4/10
A lot more rocky than Sex and Candy. Vocals would be hard due to the “OOOOHHHH” parts. Bass has a tricky riff and would be actually challenging. Drums would be quite simple but they are tricky in places so the tier could possibly be raised. Guitar has a good riff, but isn’t too hard and would be easy for most players.

Alternative, Guitar Tier: 3/10
Very old R.E.M. but still great. May be one of the first examples of Alt too. Bass and drums are the hardest instruments, bass having a fast-ish riff and drums having some difficult parts. Vocals seem easy and carry the same pitch throughout. Guitar seems simple but the note changes could be fun to play.

Experimental, Guitar Tier: 10/10
I had to create this albums wiki page -_-. Guitar has a very difficult starting riff but gets simpler afterwards. The second half when it speeds up is absolutely crazy, I mean I don’t think it’s possible. Drums get very difficult too, and even the slow parts seem tricky. Bass has an average riff and would be a 5 or 6. Vocals are so funny, but would be easy.

Hard Rock, Guitar Tier: 4/10
This band was basically Hagar before Van Halen. This song is a bit slow and everything probably gets below a 5, with the exception of vocals at a push. Guitar has a solo, but no major shredding (except the last part). Drums have a few tricky fills but nothing very hard. Bass has a easy riff and would be the easiest instrument. Vocals could be hard, possibly.

Metal, Guitar Tier: 6/10
Oh noes! It isn’t Rainbow in the Dark or Holy Diver! This song is very good and guitar would be difficult due to that tough solo. Drums seem to follow a pattern but has a few hard fills and rolls in places. Vocals has lots of long notes and could be hard. Bass follows a riff similar to the guitar one and would be average.

Alternative, Guitar Tier: 3/10
This song didn’t deserve what Leona Lewis did to it. This song is their most famous song (give or take Chasing Cars). Guitar has a simple riff but could have a few tricky hammer-on chords. Drums has a simple pattern and lots of breaks, being the easiest instrument. Bass has a riff similar to guitars and would be simple. Vocals could be difficult, being varied in pitch.

Hard Rock, Guitar Tier: 6/10
Not a well known band, or song, but it is very good. Not very challenging on guitar but gets fun when the solo kicks in. Drums are fast an would challenge players. Vocals sound ok, but I doubt they would challenge many people, but are quite deep. Bass has an average riff but could have a few colour changes.

Pop Rock, Guitar Tier: 5/10
This song would be very good for a party, being well known and fun. Guitar would be average but has a few little hammer-ons that could surprise players. Vocals are very varied in pitch and would be tough, yet fun, to sing. Drums follows a simple, slow pattern and would be easy. Bass seems to be very easy and be good for newcomers.

Nu Metal, Guitar Tier: 4/10
It isn’t easy to find a well-known song from Lovehatetragedy but this’ll do. Guitar has a simple riff but it has some fast, but very short, tremolos. Vocals seem fast but could be charted as talkies. Drums follows an average pattern and would be simple for most players. Bass has a simple riff and quite a few breaks so would be easy.

Metal, Guitar Tier: 6/10
Not that well known but is very good. The song starts up with bass which has difficult riffs throughout and would be a standout bass song. Vocals seem to have difficult parts but quite a bit is also simple. Guitar has a very nice and difficult solo, but the riff is only average difficulty. Drums are quite easy and wouldn’t be a big challenge at all.

Rock, Guitar Tier: 8/10
This is perhaps the most guitar prominent Zappa song and would be very hard. It picks up near the end and could be challenging. The also applies to do drums getting very fast and would be very hard. There are no vocals in this song and bass sounds only a bit hard and isn’t as challenging as guitar or drums.

Country, Guitar Tier: 4/10
Ah, a country supergroup. Lovely. This songs guitar riff sounds like a mini guitar solo each time but it isn’t too difficult, but if the piano is charted it could be harder. Drums has a simple rhythm having no real fills but they are sort of fast. Bass has a very easy riff but could probably get a 2. Vocals sound average difficulty, much like all country.

Punk, Guitar Tier: 4/10
Meh, it’s quite short but it’d be good. This song starts with a fast bass riff and some talkies. Then the drums kick in which are fast and would be difficult and there are also a few rolls in there. Guitar has a fast riff and a few mini solos which would be simple-ish. Vocals are quick but quite same pitch-y so they would be quite low tiered.

Country, Guitar Tier: 2/10
Lol, he has a moustache. Guitar sounds quite simple and rarely pops up but other stuff could be charted so it probably would get a 2. Drums sound quite easy but a few little bits could be tricky and/or annoying to hit. Bass has a cool riff but would probably be quite easy. Vocals sound quite easy and could have an even lower tier due to the song length.

Rock, Guitar Tier: 5/10
Ah, a great piece of Latin rock. Guitar has some great parts in and that solo is legendary but I don’t think it would be that hard. Drums would be hard if they charted the congas but even so they have some tough parts. Bass sounds like it has a good riff and would be a middle tier. Vocals sound epic and they could be quite hard, but maybe not BoRhap hard.

Experimental, Guitar Tier: 10/10
...shit. This song is crazy hard on guitar as it is incredibly fast but even when it gets a bit slower it still has various difficult bits including speedy trills. Drums seems slightly random but some places have a tricky pattern but there are so many breaks. I still don’t know if this song has bass though. But it definitely has no vocals... definitely.

Alternative, Guitar Tier: 7/10
Ah. If there is one song that has to be on GH:RHCP it has to be this. Guitar has a very difficult riff, as seen or Rock Band. Bass has a not too hard but good riff from Flea. Drums sound quite easy but has some fills that might be tricky. Vocals could be hard due to them being fast and having varied pitch.

Speed Metal, Guitar Tier: 7/10
As if the Tetris theme wasn’t good enough, Powerglove recorded a speed metal version! No vocals for this song, but some Heys near end which probably would be charted.. Drums are pretty crazy and would be the hardest instrument. Guitar gets better nearer to the end and would be tricky. Bass gets tricky near the end to and goes quite fast.

Nu Metal, Guitar Tier: 6/10
A LOT more Death Metal oriented than Nu Metal. This song is definitely hardest on drums having very fast double bass and rolls. Guitar doesn’t have a solo but it is fast and worthies a 6. Vocals are, strange. They would be very easy in Guitar Hero but they Corey does the screaming well. Bass, if that is the bass, sounds incredibly quick like War Ensemble.

Metal, Guitar Tier: 7/10
Hands up if you know this song. No? Thought not. This song starts of very nicely on guitar with some mini solos that a tricky and near the middle there is another toughie and also the outro has a hard one. Bass has a fast riff and would be difficult. Vocals are fast in places and could be hard. Drums sound tough too and would get a high tier.

Metal, Guitar Tier: 6/10
WOAH DRUM INTRO. Yes, kind of obviously this song begins with a fast mini drum solo and if that isn’t good enough the rest of the song has very hard drums too. Guitar doesn’t really have a solo but the riff sounds tough anyway. I can’t even make out the bass but it sounds like it is the same as the guitar riff. Vocals sound tough too and would be fun.

Electronic, Guitar Tier: 5/10
Wait, The Prodigy? This song features very prominent guitar and it’s something a bit different. That riff sounds hard and those random synth/keys could be fun tap parts. Drums sounds quite fun having a few double bass hits. Bass sounds a bit slow and wouldn’t be much of a challenge. Vocals has a few talkies and would be very easy.

Blues Rock, Guitar Tier: 3/10
Ooh, Modern Bob Dylan. This song, while easy, sounds fun on guitar and starts with a mini solo and has a fun little solo in there too. Drums sound quite easy but has a few little bits in there that could ruin FCs. Bass sounds like it has a continuous, easy riff and wouldn’t really pose a challenge. Vocals really shouldn’t be hard but has some random pitch alterations.

Blues Rock, Guitar Tier: 2/10
The second 2010 is by blues-rock duo The Black Keys. I don’t know if this song should get a 2 or 3 but I think it has enough gaps in notes to be a 2. Drums has some tricky double hits in there and could be hard. Bass has a very simple riff and wouldn’t a challenge. Vocals would be tricky being deep and having pitch drops and raises. Also, Fifa 11 soundtrack.

Alternative, Guitar Tier: 5/10
This song has some genre changes, being alt then sounding like grunge. Vocals sound difficult and is probably the hardest instrument. Also, dem screams. Guitar has some hard riffs and would be tricky. Bass has some catchy parts but isn’t very hard. Drums has a few hard parts and would be challenging too.

Alternative, Guitar Tier: 4/10
I only put this band in because I recently watched the Homerpalooza episode of The Simpsons. This song has a good riff and solo and would be simple to average in difficulty. Drums has a few fast rolls and fills and would be a relatively high tier. Vocals sound easy but has a few tricky notes. Bass has a simple riff but probably could reach a tier 3.

Hard Rock, Guitar Tier: 6/10
Who remembers Never Too Late from World Tour? This band is very underrated. Guitar has a great solo and riff and would be very fun. Bass has a challenging riff and would probably be tiered highly. Vocals are full of win as they sound great and would be difficult. Drums probably are the easiest instrument but have a few rolls in there that would be fun.

Grunge, Guitar Tier: 4/10
Okay, STP isn’t the most popular band in the world but it’s a short song so no worries. Guitar has good riff and a mini solo but isn’t very hard. Drums has some quick parts and would be the hardest instrument. Bass has a riff similar to guitars and isn’t that hard. Vocals sound like they may pose a challenge, but probably not.

Southern Rock, Guitar Tier: 5/10
Yes, Zakk Wylde doing Southern Rock. Awesome right? This song has a great acoustic solo and all in all would be average difficulty. Drums sound like it has a tricky rhythm with it’s double hits and MAY be the hardest instrument. Bass has a simple sounding riff and wouldn’t be highly tiered. Vocals sound like they could be hard, but not impossible.

Classic Rock, Guitar Tier: 5/10
Oh god, guitarists would fall asleep during this song. It does have a fast-ish riff though and the keys could be charted. Vocalists would have plenty of time to make sandwiches during this song. Drums could also get dull as they have a very easy pattern. Bass has a riff the same sort of speed as guitar and could be fun if the length of the song doesn’t put you off.

Pop Rock, Guitar Tier: 3/10
...sorry everyone. At least a more rock oriented person won X Factor. Guitar sounds like it would be fun, having some fun chords in there. Vocals are possibly the hardest instrument having some tough high parts. Bass sounds like it has an average and quite simple riff. Drums has a few tricky double hits and would be around 4 in difficulty.

Hard Rock, Guitar Tier: 5/10
Yay, moar Thin Lizzy. Jailbreak ain’t good enough Activision! Guitar sounds fun with a great solo and riff. Vocals are awesome and would be tricky, possibly. Drums sound quite easy and bass has quite a slow, but still awesome, bass riff. It’s also probably unfair to say this is a cover, as it is a traditional song in their own style. Oh Well.

Rock, Guitar Tier: 3/10
Awesome ballad from the Glam Rockers. Guitar seems quite easy but that solo is very awesome so I think guitarists would be satisfied. Vocals sound very fun but may not be that challenging. Drums sound very simple and wouldn’t challenge many players. Bass has a very simple riff a would get a tier 1.

Hard Rock, Guitar Tier: 5/10
This version is miles better than KoRn’s. This version is great. Vocals sound like they are trying to be true to the original but with a hard rock edge. They wouldn’t be overly hard though. Guitar has an awesome riff and a brilliant solo and would be average difficulty. Drums sound like they are quite easy along with bass.

Death Metal, Guitar Tier: 9/10
Yay! Only about 80 songs after I mentioned they were in the setlist. Guitar has a fast riff, along with a monster solo and if the keys were charted it would be very hard. Drums also sound very difficult with the very fast double bass. Vocals would be charted as talkies ad would be very easy. Bass SOUNDS very hard in places and would be very quick.

And now for the duels which happen during story mode. Sorry IaSg, I kinda stole your idea.

Rock, Guitar Tier: 3/10
Duel with Mad Dog Maynard
This song is very easy compared to Camels Night Out and Cliffs of Dover but it is good. Guitar doesn’t sound very hard but has good parts for a duel. Drums sound quite easy but could probably get a 3 at the very most. Bass sounds very easy and would get a 1. This song also has vocals but they don’t sound too hard.

New Wave, Guitar Tier: 4/10
Duel with Baron von Fitzroy
This song is hardly as duel appropriate as the others but oh well. This song has quick drums that would probably get a high tier. Bass has an awesome sounding riff and would perhaps be middle tier. Guitar has a slightly random riff but would be quite fun. Vocals sound good and would probably get a high tier.

Metal, Guitar Tier: 5/10
Duel with The Eternal Spirit
Sorta bad name for a level 3 boss but oh well. Guitar sounds very good for a duel but nothing very hard. Drums sound fun and quite quick, maybe not a very high tier though. Bass has a good riff and would be average difficulty. Vocals sound very awesome and would be quite hard to sing.

Hard Rock, Guitar Tier: 6/10
Duel with Mortimer Becksim
Not the most famous song called Eat the Rich but one of he better ones. Guitar has a great solo that would be fun in a trade-off battle. Bass has a continuous riff and would probably get an average tier. Drums sound like they would get a low to medium tier. Vocals sound good but probably wouldn’t get a very high tier.

Metal, Guitar Tier: 8/10
Duel with Billy Myers
This song is the most appropriate for a battle as it sounds like its a battle in itself. Guitar sounds difficult but not 9 or 10 material. There are talkies but I think they shouldn’t be charted. Drums sound fast and would be quite hard. Bass sounds like it has a hard-ish riff and could get above a 5.

Speed Metal, Guitar Tier: 10/10
Duel with Mega Colossus
This song is also incredibly suited to a battle. It’s probably a bad idea to have one person play the metal parts and one the flamenco parts. This song is very hard on guitar and would be a great finale. Bass sounds like it could have a tough riff and would get a high tier. Drums would definitely get over a 5 but maybe not over an 8.

And that is the setlist. I hope you liked my song choices and my over detailed reasoning.

Oh, and before I go. My computer is getting fixed over the next couple of days so no updates. I may make updates from my PS3 though. Bye!
